IBRAHIM ASMORO

The Tomb of syekh Maulana Ibrahin Asmorokondi is situated at Palang, just a view kilometres east Tuban on the coastal road. Ibrahim Asmoro is usually recognized as the father of Sunan Ampel. He is said to have been an Arab who was married to a princess of Campa. The name 'Asmorokondi', however, has led some to connect him with the Central Asian region of Samarkand.

A local superstition forbids any type of vihicle to approach the tomb from the main entrance, since an accident or some ather calamity would be sure to result.visitor approach the complex from a side road.
