Serit Beach in Blitar City, East Java Province


Located in the south part of East Java Province, Blitar City definitely features many interesting beaches for tourists to visit. When it comes to an exotic appearance and peaceful atmosphere, Serit Beach is quite recommended. This beautiful beach is located in Serang Village and belongs to Panggungrejo Sub-District. The beach resides in the west end of Serang Cape and it is bordering with Ngadipuro Village. The thing is tourists should pass through a cliff in order to get to the site. The Nuance
First, let’s talk about the nuance. The sea scenery is indeed splendid and it features big waves. Strong wind also blows continuously there. The shoreline is brownish black and it has some gravel on it. Thus, tourists should wear footwear when beach walking. In the back, bushy plants and green cliff reside. It is true that Serit Beach is located near to Serang Beach. However, the facilities are inferior. Knowing this fact, tourists should carry enough supplies including foods, snacks, bottled water, and others. After all, the beach has no food vendors or eateries. Despite the issue, the scenery and nuance are indeed satisfying. Tourists can simply hang out on the shoreline and conduct sightseeing there. Plus, the atmosphere is quite peaceful especially during regular days.

The best spot to enjoy sightseeing can be either on the tip of the coast or on the top of the cliff! The fact is Serit Beach features several coral reefs, hills, and lush trees. Not to mention the white sandy shoreline may satisfy everyone. The strong waves hit the coral reefs in a majestic way! Both the sound and appearance are indeed amusing! Tourists should take photos during that moment, too therefore. What about swimming? Unfortunately, the sea is too dangerous for swimmers. Thus, it is not recommended to get in the water.

As an alternative, tourists should explore the west part of the shoreline where many natural rocks are located. Even local people often gather in that area for hunting Batu Akik or agates! Tourists can also join the activity. In fact, they would be lucky if finding rare beautiful agates there. As for the tip, it is recommended to hire a villager who knows the site well.

How to Get There
For those coming from Surabaya City, they may spend around 3 hours and 30 minutes in order to reach Blitar City (the prime checkpoint). As for the best route, it is Surabaya – Mojokerto Highway. Once arriving at Blitar, tourists can either rest for a while at local hotel or continue their trip. The next destination is Serang Village at Panggungrejo Sub-District where the beach is located. It can be done through Protokol Street, actually. The distance is 33.1 km, so the trip would take around 59 minutes.
