GUIDANCE FOR CLIMBERS

Report

After climber return from Mount Semeru,
they are required immediately to report to officers in the Ranu Pani Resort.


Climbing arrangement

Prohibition
a. Don't do climbing if physical and mental unprepared.
b. Before entering the National Park,
the climbers should report to the officer on location.-
c. Do walking suclessively and do not spread out of the group
d. Don't do climbing by trespass or making another trail out of fixed trail.
The climber should travel on the fixed trail.
e. Don't do anything which cause damage or flora and fauna and make vandalisme in the national park area.
f. Don't be noisy which can distrube a natural silence
and keep your rubbish in your bag.
g. Do not move sign/direction in the park.
h. Do not take pets be the national park.
i. Please regard to existing regulation and guidance of the national park officers.
j. Please regard to existed community regulation on location.

Besides prohibition above, the climbers are also prohibited to dose the orater of Jonggring Saloko because this crater produced toxic gas, and to climb Mount Semeru from south direction because of a path of lava.

This guidance is exeded to be able to minimize visitors effect on Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. With your positive participation to the existence of BromoTengger Semeru National Park, this park will be a convenience place for visitors.

Punishment
If prohibition is not regarded, climbers can be subjected punishment mentioned in
Act of Number 5 of 1995 Concerning Conservation of Living Resources and their Ecosyctems.(below)

THEIR ECOSYSTEMS

CHAPTER IV
SANCTUARY RESERVES

ARTICLE 19

1. Any and all persons are prohibited from doing any activity which leads to a change of natural integrity of a sanctuary reserve.

2. The provision defined in paragraph (1) of this article shall not include prohibition of habitat management activices conducted for maintaining wild life populations within wild life sanctuaries.

3 A change of nature integrity of sanctuary reserve as defined in paragraph (1) shall include decreasing or deteriorating of function and area of a sanctuary reserve, as wil as introduction of exotic plant and animal species.

 

CHAPTER V
PRESERVATION OF PLANT AND ANIMAL SPECIES

ARTICLE 21

1. Any and all persons are prohibited to :
a. Take, fell, keep, destroy, exterminate, care for, transport and trade in protected plant or parts there of in live or dead condition.
b. Transfer protected plants or parts there of in live or dead condition from one place to another, within or outside Indonesia.
2. Any and all persons are prohibited to :
a. Catch, injure, kill keep, possess, care for, transport, and trade in a protected animal in live condition.
b. Keep, possess, care for, transport, and trade in a protected animal in deard condition.
c. Transfer a protected animal from one place to another, within or outside Indonesia.
d Trade, keep or possess skin, bodies or other parts of a protected animal, or goods made of parts of the animal, or transfer from one place in Indonesia to another within or outside lndonesia.
e. Take, destroy, exterminate, trade, keep, or possess an egg and/or a nest of a protected aninal.

 

CHAPTER VII
NATURE CONSERVATION AREA

ARTICLE 33

1. Any and all persons are prohibited to do activities which may modify the natural integrity of the National Parks Core Zone.

2. Activities considered as modifying the natural integrity of the Core Zone pertaining to paragraph (1) include to diminish or to degrade, the function and area of the Core Zone. as well as introduce exotic species of plants and animals.

3. Any and all persons are prohibited to do activities which are inconsistent with the function of utilization and other zones of the National Park, Grand Forest Park arid Nature Recreation Park.

CHAPTER XXII
PROVISION OF CRIMINAL PUNISHMENT

ARTICLE 40

1. Whosoever intentionally violates the previsions pertaining to Paragraph (1) of Article 19 and paragraph of Article 33 shall be liable to punishment by Imprisonment up a a maximum of 10 years and a fine up to a maximum of Rp. 200.000.000,00

2. whosoever intentionally violates the provisions pertaining to Paragraph (1) and paragraph (2) of Article 21 and paragraph (3) of Article 33 shall be liable to punishment by imprisonment up to a maximum of 5 years and a fine up to a maximum Rp. 100.000.000,00

3. whosoever, through negligence, violates to provisions pertaining to Paragraph (1) of Article 19 and paragraph (1) of Article 33 shall be liable to punishment try imprisonment up to a maximum of one year and a fine of up to a maximum Rp. 100.000.000,00

4. whosoever, through negligence, violates the provisions pertaining to Paragraph (1) and Paragraph (2) of Article 21 and Paragraph (3) of Article shall be liable to punishment by imprisonment up to a maximum of one year and a fine of up to maximum Rp. 50.000.000,00

5. Actions pertaining to paragraph (1) and Paragraph (2) shall be regulated as a criminal whereas actions pertaining to paragraph (3) and (4) of this article shall be estabIished as a violation.
