Van Der Wijk Monument

On October 20 1936 Dutch ship of an Der Wijk (a luxury ship belong to one of Dutch ship company) had an accident at north of Java. The ship had journey from Surabaya to Semarang. Around Brondong beach, the ship was tenggelam. Then some fishermen help some ship's passengers. But other passengers had died in the sea. By the help of Brondong people who saved the victims from that accident, the government of the Dutch built the commemoration monument that was called "Van Der Wijk" monument.
