Gunung Kelud Sebelum Erupsi Di Tahun 2007
Gunung Kelud, adalah sebuah gunung berapi yang masih aktif dan terletak terletak di Kabupaten Kediri, tepatnya di perbatasan kabupaten Kediri dan Blitar, 27 Km dari arah timur kota Kediri.
Pada lereng Gunung Kelut sejak tahun 2004 telah dibuka sarana jalan darat untuk mempermudah para wisatawan serta penduduk sekitar menuju pucak Gunung Kelud. Gunung Kelud juga telah menjadi obyek wisata Kabupaten Kediri.
Rute untuk menuju ke Gunung kelud bisa di lalui dari arah Kediri ke Wates-Margomulyo-Bambingan hingga Jurang Gelap atau Gunung Pedot. Dari Jurang Gelap ke kubah baru berjarak sekitar 2 Km dan dapat ditempuh dengan berjalan kaki.
Dengan tinggi 1730 M dari permukaan laut, Gunung Kelud dengan penampilan barunya yang kian cantik, bisa mendatangkan banyak pengunjung yang ingin selalu melihat keelokannya. Selain keindahan Gunung Kelud, disekitarnya juga terdapat obyek yang bisa dikunjungi, seperti, area perkebunan, panjat tebing, lintas alam, bumi perkemahan, danau baru Kelud dan hijaunya nuansa alam.
Setelah letusan terakhir di tahun 2007, kini gunung yang sangat fenomenal ini memiliki kubah baru, yang terbentuk dari danau yang sebelumnya ada sebelum letusan. Sebelum terjadi letusan, Gunung Kelud memiliki kawah berwarna hijau yang menawan, namun sekarang telah tergantikan dengan kawah baru yang diakibatkan dari letusan.
