SURABAYA: East Java Police will focus on maintaining traffic along the Porong highway in Sidoarjo to ensure all travelers and motorists travel safely to celebrate the Idul Fitri holiday in their home village in the province.
Director of traffic affairs at the provincial police headquarters Sr. Comr. Bambang Sukamto said the highway would be closely supervised by traffic police since the highway connecting East Java with Malang, Pasuruan, Jember, Situbondo and Banyuwangi was prone to traffic jams. (more…)

Surabaya, (ANTARA News) - KRI Hasanudin from Navy`s Eastern Fleet left here Tuesday for South Korea to join a South Korean Navy anniversary celebration.
“Warships from navies all over the world are joining the event `Republic of Korea Navy international Fleet Review`,” spokesman for the Indonesian Navy`s Eastern Fleet Command, Lt. Col. Toni Syaiful said, adding that the ship with a crew of 13 along with 88 auxiliary crew members, would have to celebrate Idul Fitri in Manila, the Philippines. (more…)

SURABAYA - Sempat mangkrak, air mancur di perempatan Manyar Kertoarjo-Gubeng Kertajaya mulai difungsikan kemarin (22/9). Seperti yang dicetak dalam rancang bangunan, air mancur tersebut tidak memerlukan bejana atau bangunan untuk rekayasa aliran air.
Air mancur tersebut dibuat hanya mengandalkan pipa-pipa kecil yang diarahkan dengan sudut tertentu. Keindahannya terbentuk dari pola-pola pancuran air. Meski terlihat sederhana, kehadirannya mampu menyegarkan suasana jalan. (more…)

Oil and gas exploration and infrastructure development projects have attracted national and international investors to build new star-rated hotels in the provincial capital, a business researcher said.
Aslakhul Umam of PT Building Construction and Interchange (BCI) Asia’s Surabaya office said, seven star-rated hotels representing a total investment of Rp 1 trillion are to be built here within the next two years thanks to these big projects. (more…)
