Ash Cloud in Malang

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: Three days of volcanic ash cloud in Malang, East Java have made authorities in the region where the Java highest volcano located instructed residents to use mask in outdoors.
Head of regency health office Enny Rengganingati said Mount Semeru ash fall could inflict eye and respiratory problems.
The ashes were spewed by the Jonggring Saloka crater 3.600 meters above sea level mostly during noon until evening, and according to the official at the mount observation post the west bound wind took most of the ash to Malang,
Ash spews were recorded at 90 times per day shooting 300 – 600 meters into the air from the crater, authorities set the alert level at the second level out of four levels, and restricted climbings at the mountain.
