Situbondo is one districts in Eastjava, which lies on the north coast between Probolinggo and Banyuwangi. To get to Situbondo, it takes about 4 hours from Surabaya and 5 hours from Denpasar Bali.
Situbondo district is 1,638,150 km2 or 163,850 ha. The distance from the east to the west border is 150 km and 11 km from the south to the north with the population of 607,106 consisting of 312,659 female (51%) and 297,697 male (49%) spreading in 17 subdistrict with the average population density of 414 people per km2.
Situbondo is one tourism destinations in Eastjava that is very attractive to visit : beautiful beaches, mountains, hills, forests, and historical heritages of Dutch colonial.

Based on “Kamulan” epigrapy, Trenggalek was built on august 31, 1194, Traditional ceremony is annually carried out to celebrate the establishment of Trenggalek and this takes place in “Pendopo Kabupaten”. A processing is made by hundreds of people wearing Javanese Traditional dresses move around along the main road of the ceremony. The people of Trenggalek are not only entertained with palmclimbing, gunny bag race, etc, but an all night puppet shadow performance as well. A day before the anniversary, people make a devotional visit to sacred places and stay a whole night reciting the holy Quran and singing “Mocopat” ( Six- Line Javanese Verse Form ).

Karanggongso Beach is about 3 Km,east of Prigi. The beach is 1,5 Km long with its white sand, Guiet and clear water which enables the tourists to take a bath. This beach is facilitated with a cottage, a hotel and boats rental.
