The name Grahadi is derived from a confernce hall inside the building.
Graha in Sanskrit means House, while Adi signifles distinguished. "Distinguisted" is the right description for this elegant and carefully preserved building.
The building is a particularly fine example of "Dutch Tropical" architecture of the colonial period.
